What is IATA?
What the regulations say
Air transport of dangerous goods requires appropriate IATA training, to ensure the safety of air freight, of all those involved in transport (operators, shippers, forwarders, etc.) and, more generally, of all national and international airspace. IATA Dangerous Goods training courses are mandatory in order to understand, prevent and control the risks involved in transporting dangerous goods, and require refresher training every two years. This training leads to an IATA Certificate.
Our Role
Securing your air transport
In 1994, BVT obtained IATA accreditation, enabling us to provide training in the transport of dangerous goods by air. This new accreditation symbolizes the evolution of our company, and complements our road transport accreditation. These training courses are retrained before the expiry of the current IATA certificate, issued for a period of 24 months.
Since then, our trainers, experts in their fields, have been training your teams to make them autonomous, responsive and qualified. These IATA - DGR training courses are an asset for your staff, enabling them to :
- Understand IATAregulations concerning the packaging and transport of dangerous goods.
- Identify and prevent risks that may arise during transport
- Learn how to react following an incident
Appropriate, high-quality training to keep risks under control
Our training courses
Generally speaking, all employees involved in the transport of dangerous goods are concerned by IATA regulations.
Each of them has a specific role to play. Upstream, this may involve ensuring that packaging meets IATA standards by having it tested in our laboratory. During transit, agents are also responsible for ensuring that dangerous goods are stored and transported in a safe, monitored and controlled way, while acting preventively throughout the entire journey. To meet this need, APTH-BVT provides air transport training specific to each profession, as well as to the transport of infectious materials or lithium batteries.
In 2023, trainees trained by our experts achieved a 97% pass rate on the IATA - DGR Certificate exam. This success symbolizes the expertise and teaching quality of our trainers.
